Warner Bros has debuted the official trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titansremake starring Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and plenty of other great actors. This is a very short teaser trailer, but it really packs a punch. No wait, scratch that, this packs more than a friggin punch, WOW! It looks so epic and awesome it's insane. I seriously think I peed myself a little bit. haha I really loved the 1981 version growing up and I have been wanting Hollywood to remake this movie for years and years. I'm so excited! Sure, they've gone CGI a little bit, but it still looks good. This is exactly what I wanted the Clash of the Titans remake to look and feel like. At first I wasn't a fan of the rock song playing in the background, but after watching it a few more times I have grown to love it. This is exactly what a movie trailer should be like - less dialogue, more intensity. This movie is going to be RAD!!
Follows Perseus and his quest to battle Medusa and the Kraken in order to save the Princess Andromeda.
Clash of the Titansis directed by French filmmakerLouis Leterrier, of Unleashed, Transporter 2, and The Incredible Hulk previously. The screenplay was originally written byLawrence Kasdan(Raiders of the Lost Ark) then later revised by Phil HayandMatt Manfredi(both of Crazy/Beautiful, The Tuxedo, Aeon Flux). This is a remake of Desmond Davis' original 1981 classic movie of the same name. Warner Brothers will be bringing Clash of the Titans to theaters everywhere starting on March 26, 2010.
That trailer gives me the goosebumps! I loved the old classic, but I have to say, this one looks so much more exciting. I can't wait!! We're to'ally going to see it together.
You know, when I was growing up seeing movies that appeared new to me, I’d say to my dad “this movie looks great!”. To which he would normally reply, “the original was better.” Now, as I’m getting older and seeing many of the movies I watched as a kid be remade, my thought is bring it on! The downside is the release date. I know things can change, but few movies amount to anything that are released in March. This is the month that brought us 10,000 BC, The Watchmen, and Chapter 27 (shoot me for knowing this last one by Linsay Lohan)
Still the trailer looks epic and cool. From what I can tell, I must borrow the immortal words of Tommy Boy…
Seriously, I didn't blink once through this trailer! That looks SO good! The music was surprising. (LOVED it!) I'm curious if it'll have that 'rock' edge in the actual movie or if it was a trailer exclusive. I hate it when they do that. I worry about the release date too. 10,000 BC also looked amazing in the trailer...
Mel - True, 10,000 B.C.'s trailer did look pretty righteous. But I just have to say, I really do think Clash... will be just as rad as this trailer. I can't wait!
Holy Freakin' Cow! I can't wait and that music was amazing. I wanted to keep listening. I hope it does the same to me in the theatres. I will be seeing that.
"I don't know what space exploration will uncover, but I don't think it'll be exploration just for the sake of exploration. I think it'll be more the fact that it allows us to see things. That maybe we should have seen a long time ago. But just haven't been able to until now."
Some of the scenes were filmed at the Coachella Festival in 2017, where Lady Gaga was the first female headliner in ten years. Festival-goers paid ten dollars to see the scenes being filmed, although recording devices were locked away to prevent any footage being leaked.
I feel film matters because we use it to tell stories about who we are as a society. They are a record of what makes us human and what concerns us in our everyday lives. Film has the power to transform emotions and it gives us opportunities to expand our horizons. It has the power to connect us to a whole new world outside our own. It's magical. Moreover, film is the most prevalent form of communication and entertainment in the postmodern world. Even while we are mindlessly absorbed in a favorite entertaining past time, we are subtly and unconsciously washed with layers of cultural values. Some films are fleeting entertainment while others are truly magnificent, dazzling, thought-provoking works of art.
Long Live Film!
