Third Batman Movie is Officially Titled 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Source: Hero Complex

This is all very exciting news! Apparently Hero Complex had a chance to speak with Christopher Nolan the other day and is reporting that the third installment in the Batman franchise will be officially titled The Dark Knight Rises. This will be the follow-up to the epic conclusion to the phenomenal and unforgettable The Dark Knight. Nolan confirmed a few other things as well: that it will not be shot in 3D (I'm actually happy to hear that), but rather shot with high def and IMAX cameras (again) instead. Also the villain is not The Riddler and Harvey Dent will not be returning.

"We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones," Nolan says. And that's all the details we have for now. I did read, however, that Professor Hugo Strange and Catwoman now jump to the top of the list. I'm glad Nolan has ruled out The Riddler, The Joker and Harvey Dent. I'm actually loving the idea of bringing a new villain into the mix. Hugo Strange will make an excellent villain should Nolan go down that path. There are so many rad villains to choose from in the batman world, why not bring on someone we haven't seen yet? At this point all we can do is wait and see, right? Either way, now we know the title to this highly anticipated film. The Dark Knight Rises will be hitting theaters on July 20th 2012. Bring it on!

How excited are you?

I'll wait and see how the movie progresses. I'm not a batman fan. Your review did look enticing. . . .
