This looks intriguing to say the least. IFC Films debuted the official trailer for Cracks. It's an indie drama about a group of girls who attend an all-girls boarding school in 1934. Eva Green plays Miss G, an enigmatic yet alluring teacher who inspires fanatical loyalty within the small clique of girls on her diving team. However, things get turned upside down when the arrival of a Spanish girl gets thrown into the mix. This film also stars the likes of Juno Temple, María Valverde, Sinéad Cusack and Imogen Poots.
Cracks is directed by British filmmaker Jordan Scott, daughter of Ridley Scott who made her feature debut with this after directing a couple of shorts. The screenplay was co-written by Jordan Scott and Ben Court and Caroline Ip (both of The Hole, Marian Again, ITV's "Whitechapel"). This is based on Sheila Kohler's novel, first published in 2006. It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival back in 2009 and is just now, finally, hitting theaters in the US thanks to IFC Films. Cracks arrives in limited theaters on March 18th 2011. I definitely want to see this.
