Zach Galifianakis Talks About The Hangover: Part III

Source: Box Office Mojo & Rolling Stone

Seeing that the movie has already ranked in a whopping $346,700,000 worldwide, it was only a matter of time before the studio moved forward with another sequel. Warner Brothers wants to bring back writer Craig Mazin, who wrote The Hangover: Part II, to script the next installment to the comedy franchise.

Zach Galifianakis recently spoke with
Rolling Stone saying that they want to make a sequel; “I’m getting fricking phone calls already.” He also revealed a portion of what will take place in Part III. It sounds like it could work, but who knows with these comedies.

Director Todd Phillips said the third installment in the series would end the franchise and would be something completely different than the first two films. Galifianakis confirms by saying the third film will apparently focus on his character Alan being stuck in a mental hospital while the rest of the wolf pack try to help him escape. Of course, it's not clear how soon the sequel will come together, but I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Personally I don’t think this is a good idea. And even though it’s good to take risks, I feel it better to go out on top (ahem: Spiderman, Indiana Jones?). But who knows, I said the same thing when I got wind of Part II and that ended up being a HUGE success. Let’s just hope the next sequel is done well, and comes with a pretty bow tying up the series for good.

Zach's charater in The Hangover is my favorite so this could be good but I'm not sure about changing it up so much from the first 2 films. I'm curious to see how it turns out - I'll definitely go see it :)
