Happy 42nd Birthday, Nolan!

The Alfred Hitchcock of superhero cinema turns another year older today. Here's to a great man who's phenomenal career spans from 1998 to present day. Christopher Nolan is definitely one of the most beloved film directors of our generation. And with the Batman trilogy under his belt he certainly sealed the deal as one of the best directors of all time. His future looks bright ahead and I'm definitely looking forward to his next "big deal." Take a trip back into the world of all things Nolan with his film diaries below (sans TDKR). Enjoy.

While the birthday boy isn't directing anything in the near feature, he is writing and producing Man of Steel - out next summer, 2013 - so you know it'll be good. I'm definitely excited for that movie on so many levels. Nolan has an incredible movie catalog to flip through, so it's hard to pick just one favorite, but mine would have to be the outstanding Dark Knight - Memento and Inception are pretty damn amazing as well. So hats off and cheers to you, Christopher. Thank you for making some of the best movies around.

*Happy Birthday*

What is your all time favorite Nolan film?

I'd have to agree with you on The Dark Knight.
