20th Century Fox just debuted their first trailer for The Maze Runner, which is adapted from the novel of the same name by James Dashner, who also worked on the screenplay - so you know it'll follow the book pretty well. This story is about a bunch of kids trapped in a brutal game (another Hunger Games type), but the game is actually a gigantic maze they're trapped in. This is the first time I've heard of this movie. Where've I been? It looks fantastically mesmerizing. It has a nice dash of sci-fi mixed in which is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie and finding out what's beyond the wall.
"What if we were sent here for a reason."
The Maze Runner marks the feature directorial debut of Wes Ball, and the script is by Noah Oppenheim and James Dashner. The story follows teen Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), who awakens in a rusty elevator with no memory of who he is, only to learn he's been delivered to the middle of an intricate maze, along with a slew of other boys, who have been trying to find their way out of the ever-changing labyrinth — all while establishing a functioning society which they call the Glade. This movie will hit theater on September 19th, 2014.
