The Best of Cinema 2014 By Moviejerk

Source: Moviejerk

There have been some excellent Retrospective Videos in years past, but nothing quite like this. If you're more into artistic/independent films, this is right up your alley. There's only 30 films featured in this montage, titled The Best of Cinema 2014, which is all based on Moviejerk's Top 30 Films of 2014 (which hasn't been published yet). A lot of independent movies shown here (with a few exceptions), but his editing is pure perfection! It is a little heavier than most, but I think that's part of its draw. The track used is by M83, Un Nouveau Soleil, which makes this montage even more stellar than it already is. Take a look and enjoy!
Here's what Moviejerk had to say:
"It’s nearly the end of the year, and everyone from Sight & Sound to John Waters are each coming up with their own best films list. Hardly anyone has the last word on this, not even Quentin Tarantino, hence each list is as fascinating as the next. It’s a sport widely exercised by film critics and filmmakers alike, and I’m cooking up my very own 30 Best Films list to be served up just before we bid farewell to 2014. For the time being, I’ve edited a montage of movies, the best of cinema in 2014, a brief glimpse of the films that will be included and celebrated come end of the year to the tune of M83’s Un nouveau soleil (from the film Les rencontres d’apr├Ęs minuit)."

Get Your Retrospective On - Movies of 2014

Source: Firstshowing
"Come and get your love." Man, I love this time of year! Christmas is just around the corner, everyone is nicer to each other, the seasonal music is blaring, the pretty lights are glowing, and movie mash-ups come flowing in like madness, not to mention lists of the Best Movie Trailers and Films of 2014. In case you haven't seen many movies this year I say this: "What's the matter with you, but more importantly... you're in luck." Check out this recap, the latest impressive compilation of clips from films ranging from Birdman, Guardians of the Galaxy to Unbroken. Nick Kinder went through great lengths to make this extra special too by using dialogue cleverly matched with the right clips.  Check it out and enjoy!
Here's what Kinder had to say about 2014:
"Diverse is an understatement when referring to the movies of 2014. The year held such a range for films in such a range of genres and styles. They were bold, they were risky, they were awesome. Not in recent memory has a year for film been so generous. Looking back is a pleasure to the memory; there was so much offered, so much to see, and so much to love. I wanted to focus this time on the aspects of humanity, inspiration, and especially love, as I found 2014 cinema to be heavily influenced on these topics."

How many movies did you see this year?!
